My Grandfather Albert Lyons was a Chatham rating 1915-1919. He was a stoker on board HMS Itchen and HMS Tyne (supply ship) about which I have a few details. I am trying to find out about basic training he would have received at Chatham and what his duties would have been as a Stoker (apart from feeding the engines). Any help much appreciated. Thanks. Mark
