My husband (John MacLeod,originally from Inverness, Scotland) had a relative who I think was in the W.R.E.N.S. during the 2nd World War.  I have a photo. of her c.1945 at Roosevelt Airfield, New York, with her unit, standing in front of what I have told is a 'Vought Corsair' aeroplane, and have been told she was a Petty Officer.  I am trying to find out more.
Her name was BARBARA McLEOD, born 26 June, 1906, Blairgowrie, Perth, Scotland, died c. 1982 Inverness, Scotland.
