My ancestor was discharged, with an injured pelvis, in 1919. His last posting was "Nairn". Was this a shore station? Any info will be appreciated.

NAIRN was an armed yacht.   Built as the private steam yacht "St Cerf" in 1913 at Leith; measured 172.8ft x 25.1ft 437 tons.
Taken over by the Navy in April 1915 and armed with 2 x 12pdr, 1 x 6pdr gun for use as a local patrol boat.  She served until February 1919 when she was returned to her owners.  She served again during WW2, this time as the 'Tiercel'

Thanks for that. According to the copy of his records, that I have, he was posted to her from 13 June 1918 to 23 April 1919.
Do you know where she was based?

Regards
