My Dad served aboard H.M.S. Campbell between the above dates. In the 80's my Dad did an interview for the Imperial War Museum about his time in the Royal Navy. He mentions going over to Norway on H.M.S. Campbell to pick up French Foreign Legionares. He says there were about 400 of them.We also have possibly the last ever photo taken of H.M.S. Hood, taken by my Dad as she slipped anchor to go after the Bismark.
Once again any information reguarding the Campbell going to Norway would be very helpful.

I do not have a detailed history, only an outline one - in March/April 1940 she was engaged in escorting convoys heading to Gibraltar; She is shown as being part of the forces engaged in supporting operations in Norway June 1940. On the night of 19/20 November 1940 she was involved in a sharp fight with German torpedo boats off Southwold, which resulted in one of the attackers being sunk by Campbell after being rammed by the destroyer.
