Hello to All

I'm looking for information concerning Admiralty Floating Dock (AFD) 10.

Its my understanding that this vessel was purchased during the opening month of the war by the British Government, bought from  the Dutch(in the East Indies) for 760,000 guilders. It was to be used by the RN at Singapore for use by destroyers and small cruisers (if the latter were lightened.

5000 tons   391.3ft x 85ft/62.7ft x 17.4ft
Built Amsterdam by Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw in 1924
Purchased from Sabang Bay Harbour & Coal Company, Sumatra in 1939.  Towed by 'Roode Zee' from Sabang to Singapore. Scuttled in 1.1942 on Japanese invasion.  Raised by Japs ? (uncertain) - found sunk in Naval Stores Basin, Singapore Dockyard in October 1945. Raised and refitted.
Remained in use at Singapore dockyard until 8 December 1968 when transferred on closure of naval dockyard to the new owners, Sembawang Shipyard. Became Sembawangs FD.2 and still in use in the 1980s
