Still chasing my Navy ancestor.

He served in the troopship HMS Tyne from 17 April 1902 to 29 Feb 1904 and again from 01 April 1905 to 20 May 1905. Does anybody know were the ship was during these periods, please?

Regards

She was in the Mediterranean, based at Malta. Although still officially classed as a storeship, in March 1903 she was re-commissioned as a depot ship for destroyers.  I do not have any detailed movements, but she seems to have spent most of her time at Malta, but did move around the Med. to support exercises etc. of her destroyers - I have found mention of her at Gib and at Corfu in 1903-04.

Many thanks once again. One of the few times, in his career, that he wasn't on a guardship.
