Wounds received in action was one of a limited number of notations relating to war service that were authorised to be inserted on service certificates (KRAI Vol 1 1943 Chapter XIII Art 606(2). The clue to when and where you father was wounded may therefore be found in his service record sheet which you mention you still have. If you can forward a copy to carnock@davemallinson.fsnet.co.uk I will try and interpret the sequence of events. Regards stontamar |
