One of my wifes ancestors was a William Miller McGrath Born 1853 and served on several ships of the time from around 1870 to 1891 when he left his last ship HMS Victoria and Albert he was drafted to the Naval prison at Lewes as assistant warder but his service record also shows him being drafted to Chatham Naval Prison as a senior warder. Does anyone have any info on either of these prisons, routines, photographs, archives etc or know where i can find anything?
