Hi,

Anyone know anything about HMS Phoenicia.I believe it was a shore base on Malta.

My late uncles papers show he was there Nov/Dec 1952 at the same time as he was serving 21 days for disobedience. Was there DQ's there? Can anyone help?

Chris.

I can confirm that Phoenicia was at Malta, at Manoel Island.  I cannot say whether DQ's were there.

Thanks for reply Philo'

Another clue from uncs' papers...alongside the entry for Phoenicia is MCE for the time he was under punishment.Anyone know what this might mean.

Having studied his papers a bit more I see he was actually serving aboard LCT 4040 (HMS Bastion)when he got trooped. He returned to LCT 4040 after his 21 days.
