hi my dad was a Royal Navy Commando ww2 in his pay book it says he was awarded the c.g.m and the d.s.m but can not find out what for i have been told he was in a serect unit 555 anybody know anything about this thanks

hi his name was robert norman wilding we have checked them and could find nothing at all i have photos of him in uniform i can send you if that helps ann

Sorry, Ann; I have also checked the Gazette and found no mention of him.
It might be worth contacting the RN Commando Association, and see if they could help -
