Can anyone please explain what the (Ty) means in the following ranks please:
Leading Stoker (Ty) & PO Stoker (Ty)
and also what is the rank:
Chief Mech (E)

Ty = Temporary - i.e. not confirmed in the rank

Chief Mech (E) - Chief Mechanician (engineering)
