Can anyone tell me when the RNR established a branch in Brighton/Hove?

There is a RNR Battery recorded as being in Hove, and in use by the Royal Naval Artillery Volunteers (presumably from 1874) when they came into being.  The  Sussex Division RNR was based in Newhaven from 1859 when the force was formed so the time scale would appear to be sometime between 1859 and 1874.

Any ideas anyone?
